Sand and Sugar Cookie Decorating Class

June 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

You know what they say – Sun’s out, Icing Bags Out! Come join us for this summer themed sugar cookie decorating class on Saturday, June 8th from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. We will start right on time so we can have enough time to decorate and answer questions along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family!
This class is for ages 16 and up. Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! All tickets to individuals 21+ include a cocktail.

Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! A Pretty Smart Cookie is here to help! In this 2-hour class, we’ll cover the basics of sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you’ll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron).

Things to Bring
Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!
– Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).
– Bring your glasses! Cookie decorating is pretty deatiled, so if things get blurry close up, glasses may be a great help.
– Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures and videos throughout class – so bring a phone!
– Bring a mask if you’d like! These classes follow the state health guidelines, but if you’d like to wear a mask throughout class – please do! No one will look at you funny.
– Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they’re also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

About Erika and A Pretty Smart Cookie
I started cake and cookie decorating in college in 2002 but I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember. I taught cake decorating classes for many years and had a specialty cake business in Atlanta. Eventually, work and graduate school crowded out baking in my life but I really missed it! In 2019, I decided to return to decorating but to focus on cookies. It got me through the pandemic with my sanity (almost) in tact! I have not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). I don’t know that I have a favorite theme to decorate. I just love being creative! There is little more satisfying than the look on a client’s face when I’ve exceeded their expectations for a gift or an event. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world!

Not-So-Small Print
Allergens: Eggs, gluten, and nuts are present in the kitchen used to bake these cookies and icing. Please consider your allergies before registering.
